About me

Armita Tschitsaz received her PhD in the field of psychotherapy process research from the University of Bern in 2008. From 2008-2018 she worked as a clinical psychologist at different psychiatric units in Switzerland and received several psychotherapy educations; since 2011 she worked as the head of psychotherapy in psychiatric units for depression, personality disorder, addiction and eating disorders. Since 2018, she is the deputy head of the therapy center of eating disorders of the child and adolescent psychiatry of university of Bern. Accompanying, she initiated research projects in the field of mental stress disorders and eating disorders. Currently, we run two research projects examining the development of and influences on eating disorders. We aim to examine the bio-physiological and psychological responses to weight anxiety in adolescents with anorexia nervosa. A further purpose is to characterize the trajectories of anorectic symptoms at baseline, during and after inpatient treatment and their impact on therapy effectiveness.
