About me

I am a PhD student in Dr. Leila Tarokh’s group and joined her team in late 2020. In my PhD project, we study the relationships between sleep and mental health from a dimensional and transdiagnostic point of view, making use of a variety of methods including sleep electroencephalography (EEG). Our goal is to deepen the knowledge regarding sleep neurophysiology and mental health in early adolescence while also contributing to the conceptualization of health and disease in general psychiatry. To me, studying mental health in adolescence is of utmost importance, since early adolescence is a crucial time for the transition into the teenage years and eventually, early adulthood. I am especially interested in the identification of early markers of developmental trajectories both in sleep and wake as well as the study of the relationships between sleep, physical activity, and mental health.
