The Department of Old Age Psychiatry and Psychotherapy focuses on the ageing society and mainly performs studies in healthy ageing as well as in neurodegenerative diseases. We apply cognitive training and non-invasive brain stimulation to slow down loss of cognitive abilities. Furthermore, we employ neuroimaging techniques to explore the underlying neurophysiological mechanisms of learning as well as to identify biological markers that allow an improved prognosis of therapeutic outcomes.
