About Me

I obtained my PhD in clinical developmental neuroscience from Bern University in 2014. I then worked as a pediatric clinical neuropsychologist at the Children’s University Hospital Bern. In 2017, I joined the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health at Monash University as a postdoctoral research fellow before starting as an advanced postdoc at the University Hospital of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in Bern in 2018. My main interest is the neurobiology of emotion (dys)regulation in the context of mental health. My research uses clinical, behavioral and neuropsychological, as well as ambulatory assessment, neuroimaging and psychophysiological measures to investigate developmental alterations during the vulnerable periods of childhood and adolescence. One current focus of my studies is the transdiagnostic symptom of pathological irritability in childhood as a precursor of later psychopathology. Further areas of interest include psychosocial determinants (such as family environments) and the influence of smartphone usage on mental health.
