Our group focuses on understanding the consequences of child maltreatment and trauma, with a particular emphasis on their developmental, psychological, and functional outcomes. We examine risk and protective factors, and long-term impacts on children and adolescents in out-of-home treatment settings. Additionally, we are dedicated to developing and evaluating evidence-based interventions to support recovery and resilience in these populations.
In parallel, we investigate the processes and methodologies used in child and adolescent forensic evaluations. Forensic evaluations are key aspects of criminal and civil law. Using quantitative and qualitative methods our research tries to gain deeper insights into decision-making and effects of forensic evaluations.
