We take a mixed methods and multimodal approach and make use of the following methods:
Clinical interviews and questionnaires
Semi-structured clinical interviews and questionnaires are used to assess psychopathology, functional impairments, history of child maltreatment and trauma and other constructs of interest in a standardized way to guarantee the highest reliability.
Clinical trials
In feasibility and pilot studies we examine and develop new treatment approaches predominantly for children and adolescents in out of home care with the long-term aim to conduct randomized controlled trials to examine the efficacy and the safety of those treatments.
Participatory and mixed methods research
In our research we work closely with both people with lived experiences / consumers and providers of mental health services to gain profound insights into their needs, preferences, and perspectives in the context of developing, evaluating, implementing, and disseminating evidence-based treatments.
